Dear Fellow Alumni, past & present faculty of glorious Madras Medical College,

With immense joy and great pleasure, I am introducing myself as a 1972 batch MMCian having acquired my MBBS, M.D., (Pharmacology), D.N.B., (Clinical Pharmacology) & Ph.D.,(Neuro-Pharmacology) all through the portals of our greatest Institution.

I was fortunate enough to be associated with the 150^th year celebrations of MMC in the year 1985 as an Assistant Professor of Pharmacology.

Now the Almighty has given me an opportunity to conduct the 175^th year celebrations in an envious position as the Dean of this foremost institution with all your co-operation.

I am very proud to know that many learned MMCians who are spread over different parts of the globe are leading their departments by virtue of their talents and merits and are also very well off.

The Post-Centenary Platinum Jubilee Year has already commenced in February 2009 which will culminate in a ‘Gala’ function to be celebrated in February 2010.

I Place before you a few of my humble requests in this connection:

That every MMCian should be connected - by creating a data base of the alumni of MMCians. – To facilitate this an official website of Madras Medical College has been launched (www.mmc.tn.gov.in)  which provides a template for the registry of alumni; both students and faculty. Kindly fill up your basic data and also please see that all MMCians known  to you register themselves to create a wide contact network under a single banner ‘MMCians’ This banner includes Doctors-both Medical & Dental,Pharmacists, Nurses, Physiotherapists and also Postgraduates who have graduated from Madras Medical College.
